Zara Home has closed in Leeds city center as its parent company responds to changes in the retail sector brought about by Covid-19.
The company was based in Briggate and sold a wide range of housewares. During the summer, the retailer that is closing Zara stores announced plans to close some of its stores in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The move would mean a greater focus on selling online.
The closure has lost jobs in Leeds and across the UK. As an offshoot of Zara, the Zara Home Stores sell furniture for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and more.
It’s the last closure we’ve seen in Leeds city center this year. Many come before the coronavirus pandemic hit and changed the way people shop.
In 2020, Timberland, Thorntons, Monsoon and other offices in Leeds city center have closed.
