Are you bored with our current units of measurement? Are you constantly weighing the pros and cons of converting the United States to the metric system, wondering whether there is a better option?
Well, thanks to British physicist Steven Wooding from Omni calculator, There is. In fact, there are many, many options.
You’re part of Woodings Weird Units Converterwhich allows the user to change the units of measure from the usual feet, inches, cups, ounces etc to hand spans, baguettes and yes, Danny DeVitos. (Besides, it also works as a normal converter and calculates Foot to meter and something.) Here’s what you should know.
How the converter can be helpful
Besides the entertainment value, Wooding says that using the converter to change a unit of measurement can better relate the result to everyday life – like using a parking lot to measure area or a Big Mac to measure weight. “We can experience or visualize things like that, and as long as the number that comes with the measurement is not too large, we feel more comfortable with the measurement,” he explains.

How to use the calculator
The weird unit converter is pretty intuitive, however here is Wooding’s tutorial to guide you through each step:
- Select the type of unit you want to convert, e.g. B. length, height, weight, etc.
- Enter your measurement in regular units. If the default unit is not suitable, click the unit to select a different unit. Then enter a number.
- Your measurement will be converted to the standard strange unit. To change the Strange Unit, click the unit to display a list of Strange Units to choose from. Remember not to make the number too big or too small.
- For the sound and temperature unit types, the calculator makes your number in relation to other things that are louder and quieter, colder and hotter, e.g. B. that a temperature is between room temperature and human body temperature.
Now it is only a matter of time before Change.org petitions to make Danny Devitos an official unit of measurement.
