Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Jan 17 (ANI): Mumbai police arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly cheating on people in the name of online shopping.
The defendant, arrested on Saturday, allegedly defrauded around 22,000 people, particularly women, for over 70 rupees in the name of online shopping.
The Cyberra Police Station of the Bandra Kurla Complex has registered an FIR (First Information Report) under Sections 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 66-C and 66-D of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
According to police, the defendant committed the crime on behalf of several online shopping websites. Further research is ongoing. (ANI)
