Season two of Apple TV’s most popular comedy, Ted Lasso, premieres tomorrow, July 23rd, on Apple TV +. Ted Lasso is one of those rare TV series loved by fans and critics alike in its first season, one that everyone swears to “watch” even though it is exclusive to a premium streaming service many people don’t have it. But if you’re one of the few people who has a PlayStation 5 in your living room, you can try Apple TV + for free for six months and catch up on the series starting today.

According to the PlayStation website, the Apple TV + advertising contract is valid for new and existing Apple TV + subscribers. The free subscription must be requested through the Apple TV app on PlayStation 5, but you can watch it on any Apple TV supported device once your account is registered for the free trial. Note that after the six months are up, you will be billed $ 5 per month to keep your subscription active.

This is a pretty cute perk for PS5 owners, but with the new console still hard to find in stock, not many users will be able to claim the deal at this point. Fortunately, the offer runs until July 22, 2022, so you can find a PS5 for a full year and sign up for the six-month free trial of Apple TV +.

If you’re already using Apple TV on the PS5, just log into the app on the PS5 and the free six months will be automatically added to your account. But if you’re not using Apple TV on PS5, we’ll walk you through the steps to get the free Apple TV + for half a year.

  1. Create an Apple ID account if you don’t already have one. You can quickly set one up here.
  2. Turn on your PS5. From the home screen, scroll to “Media” Tab.
  3. Highlight the “All apps” Square, then scroll over and choose Apple TV from the list.
  4. On the Apple TV app page, select “Download.”
  5. Wait for the download to complete, then open the Apple TV + app.
  6. Choose “Start search”, Then configure the app’s data sharing settings.
  7. Choose “Enjoy six months for free” Then sign in with your Apple ID.
  8. Once you’re signed in, you can immediately start streaming on your PS5, or sign in to Apple TV on other devices and watch there instead.
