“It was an absolute blast, and while it is heartbreaking to see our store and most other stores close, I know I will look back on my time at Disney with only amazing memories.”
When we first brought you the news of the Disney Store in Leeds closing, we asked for a comment to clarify the decision.
“While consumer behavior has shifted towards online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” said Stephanie Young, president, Consumer Products Games and Publishing.
“Over the past few years we’ve focused on meeting consumers where they already spend their time, such as expanding Disney Store shop-in-shops around the world.
“We now plan to create a more flexible, connected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all of our franchises.”
