Some people have put a lot of thought into buying candles. You can use words like “Burning time” “Musk” and “toss” to describe how they make their selections. But while it’s really all about the scent, candles that come in aesthetically pleasing jars can be tough to resist – and Big Candle knows that.
The problem is, once you’ve blown the candle, you’re left with the apothecary jar with the amber jar or the perfectly round opaque white jar. You don’t want to get rid of them, but you also have limited storage space and aren’t sure if empty candle jars are worth the property. Well, maybe this TikTok Video Hack will let yourself be inspired.
How to make a planter out of an old candle jar
If you’ve used other old candle jars for pen or pen holders or containers for cotton swabs or balls in the bathroom, consider using your next discarded candle jar as a mini planter. This trick comes to us from TikTok user Ashlie from @ash_o_lie::

First, put your used candle jar in the freezer. Here’s why this works, courtesy of a Lifehacker article from 2012::
The freezer will cause the wax to contract from the sides of the jar, making it a lot easier to scrape out with a blunt knife. Once most of the wax is gone, a few quick swabs of baby oil or vinegar should remove any residue, leaving you with a perfect jar to keep on the countertop.

OK, this part is done.
Now take the empty candle jar and find a small plant stuck in it. Three-wick candle jars (like those from Bath & Body Works) are perfect for 4-inch potted plants. Just stick the whole little plant – including the plastic grow pot it comes in – into the former candle jar and you don’t have to worry about drainage.
